Living in the Akseki district of Antalya, Abdullah Güven expanded the production of thyme oil, which he started with primitive methods 25 years ago, to 35 different types of herbal oil today.
Güven, who collects plants from 800 to 1800 meters above sea level in the Taurus Mountains, delivers the natural oils obtained from these plants to his customers via cargo in line with the demands from 81 provinces. Güven collects various plants in the Taurus Mountains, which are between 800 and 1200 meters above sea level, with the permission he received from the Forest Management Directorate during the summer months. The plants he collects include many medicinal plants such as thyme, scallions , and marshmallow, myrtle, juniper, laurel, terebinth, pine, rosemary, fennel, St. John's wort, nettle and water mint . Güven, who initially dried and sold these plants, started to extract the oil of these plants with modern methods over time. Güven, who says, "I produce the most thyme oil and the most demand for this oil," continues his work with the happiness of being useful to people, despite the laborious work.
Different Healing from Each Plant
Abdullah Güven contributes to health by extracting oil from 35 different plants. Güven, who emphasizes that thyme, which grows especially in the Akseki region, is very valuable, states that research on the oil of this plant also supports this situation. Güven stated that each oil has a different healing effect, and said, "For example, thyme oil is effective against colds and viruses, lavender oil is good for those with insomnia, and peppermint oil is useful against nausea and mouth sores."
